Welcome to my blog!
I'm Shalini, founder and owner of Bake-a-licious. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a home baker. Baking is my passion and after creating some beautiful cakes for my family and friends, I decided to open this business. I'm also a high school teacher and both these works are my passion.
So, how did this business come into my mind? Well, I used to bake cakes for my family, but mostly without any frosting as you know it takes a lot of time to decorate a cake. So I just used to bake cake for quick desert, but my family members wanted a frosted cakes and then I started to make as per their wish and slowly developed my skills in cake decorating..
I'm not a full time baker, I bake cakes for any occasion like birthdays and small get togethers. The cake listed on this website are made specially for birthdays. As they are made on order, I don't keep stocks of those items. All the items are freshly made from scratch, unless mentioned as box mix. Even the buttercream I made is from scratch.
Since, I'm a. self taught baker, I've taken inspirations from many online videos to improve my cake and frosting recipes and designs but I really like the videos of buttercream recipes from Cupcake Savvy on Facebook. It also gave me the idea of Cheesecake bites in my products list; from which I get to know that you don't have to make big cheesecakes. These small bites are perfect for any party as you don't have to get into the hussle of cutting the right portion and worry about all guests getting their portions. Online videos really gives you several ideas about different flavors you can bake and frost.
What's so special about Bake-a-licious? Well, as said earlier, all the products made here are:
Home made: that means you are getting the goodness of homeness in your product
Made from scratch: all the products are made on order, nothing is previously made. So if you think you can have a look before ordering, it is not possible.
On demand: all items are custom made as per the client's requirement, so there is no item on the list I've made twice and with the same design unless the customer asks for the exact design as shown on this website. I try to keep the item as original as possible and go over a design idea before getting into the baking, and after customer's approval the item get started to be made.
Loads of flavor: store bought commercial cakes have only two typical flavors, but at Bake-a-licious you will get variety of cake flavors with different combinations of frostings and fillings.
Size matters: even though the products shown here are of big cakes, I also offer small cakes of 6 inches as required for small parties. Cupcakes are also available for the same flavored cake.
And of course, all the items are made with lot of passion and dedication keeping customer's requirement in mind.
I believe doing any job with passion and perfection and thus I always try to make each item at Bake-a-licious is safe and creative and true to my heart.
